Carrying the Intention of Goodwill

By Ken Giglio, Principal of Mindful Leadership

Goodwill is the state of “wishing well to another.” Among the most pressing needs identified by senior leaders in our current business and social environment are connection, trust, and a sense of belonging. Carrying the intention of goodwill into our professional relationships creates possibilities for people to build connection and trust with each other, both one-to-one and in groups and teams.

Goodwill is why people stay with their jobs even during the most difficult circumstances. When we hear “I know she/he has my back,” we are hearing goodwill. When we see those around us asking what we need to get our jobs done well, we are experiencing goodwill. Goodwill is the far-reaching state of being that encourages us all to be our best with and for each other.
